Vibrant Northern Industry filled Ouluhalli
Northern Industry 2026 was held on May 20–21 at Ouluhalli in Oulu, once again strengthening its position as one of the most significant industrial meeting places in Northern Finland. This year, the event gathered a record-breaking 380 exhibitors and approximately 4,000 visitors. During the two-day event, discussions focused on topics such as energy solutions, automation, maintenance, hydrogen economy, and future industrial investments.
Discussions in Focus – Product Innovations Added Extra Interest
The VEM motors Finland booth also remained busy throughout the event with lively technical discussions. Particular interest was shown in energy-efficient motor solutions and Ex motors designed for hazardous areas.
This year’s new products at the booth included the VEM explosion-protected Ex db motor and the highly energy-efficient VEM IE5 synchronous reluctance motor. Also on display were the VEM stock motor solution combined with an Intorq brake as well as high-speed solutions.
Visitors interested in automation were especially attracted by the demo presenting Yaskawa GA500 and GA700 frequency converters. The practical demonstration offered an opportunity to explore Yaskawa drive technology and features in real operating conditions.
Many familiar products already known by our customers were also showcased. Among the highlights were the highly reliable VEM ARC roller table motor as well as high-quality gearbox and power transmission solutions from Tramec and KEB.
Shooting Competition Won with Strong Results
The laser shooting competition organized at our booth also attracted significant interest, with more than 200 participants over the two days.
The winner of the first exhibition day was Jonni Fagerroos from Tracegrow Oy with a score of 41.1 points. The closest challengers scored 40.9 and 39.5 points.
The competition continued intensely on the second day. The highest result was achieved by Jani Lukkaroinen from SSAB with an impressive 42 points (maximum score 50 points).
Congratulations to the winners, and we wish you relaxing moments with the “lazy set” prize package – a fleece blanket and two pillows!
Warm thanks to all approximately 200 participants in the shooting competition.
We would also like to thank all customers and partners who visited our booth and took part in the excellent discussions. Many educational institutions were also present, including the teachers from Lapland University of Applied Sciences, who are doing excellent work with future electrical and automation professionals.
Special thanks also to Etra and Jari-Pekka Mustonen, whose large exhibition stand provided excellent arrangements for us throughout the event.
It was truly great to meet customers, partners, and new contacts face to face once again. See you at future events!
The next Northern Industry event will be held on May 17–18, 2028 at Ouluhalli in Oulu.
Best regards,
The VEM Trade Fair Team
